The Apitius sound comes standard with all my mandolins* regardless of the model or price point. Models differ in style and appointments to suit the individual player's needs and preferences. As an independent instrument maker, I welcome the opportunity to customise and tailor my mandolins to create the perfect fit for your style and technique.

*New! 3 distinct voicing options are now available for your Apitius mandolin. Learn about them here.

The Vanguard

The Vanguard is modelled on the early Loar mandolins. (circa 1922-23) These mandolins typically had a "top bound" body with "side bound" fingerboard and headstock. Finished in the traditional French polish method.

The Rosine

The Rosine model pays homage to the late Bill Monroe. Among his many accomplishments, Mr. Monroe recognized and brought out the potential of the F-5 style mandolin with it’s elevated fingerboard and violin style sound holes. Without Bill Monroe, this instrument may never have been fully appreciated for the masterpiece that it is. The Rosine model is appointed in much the same style as Mr. Monroe’s own personal favourite mandolin. Finished in the traditional French polish method.

The Yorkville

( J-Model)

The Yorkville model is the top of the line for my new J-model mandolins. With an air chamber that is 10% larger than my A and F-models, the J-models have a bias towards the lower frequencies. The resulting warmer, mellower sound is designed specifically for jazz style players.

The Club Jazz

( J-Model)

The Club Jazz takes it's cues from the legendary arch-top jazz guitars of the 20's, 30's and 40,s. Its big warm sound is perfect for the jazz player.
